Hey Everyone,
This site is all about my Mom, Dottie.
She has been living with ALS, or better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease since 1997.
There isn't any traditional medical treatment available for this disease at present. We have come across this one
new treatment that we believe will actually help make her life more bearable with the hope of increasing her mobility.
Of course with any new treatment it costs, $21,000. We are in need of raising about
half before the treatments can begin. We know that this is a huge amount, yet with everyone helping it would be accomplished
much faster.
With each new stage of the disease Mom has modified the type of craft that she does. For
this latest stage Mom is drawing pictures with a computer mouse using her shaky index and middle fingers of her
right hand. These two fingers and movement in her neck is all she at present is able to control.
She uses the ordinary Paint program that is on every computer, most of these are using
a dot by dot technique. Some have other objects created using the same program, ovals and such. She started out
drawing pictures for her grandchildren and hid their names in the pictures.
So here are Dottie's Pictures. Each one is an original and copyrighted work.
We are making them available in a greeting card type format, 4 for $15 to help raise the money she needs for
this new program.
It is possible for different formats, i.e. 4x5 or 8x10, if you will let us know what you might like I am sure it
can be arranged.
